Freshman

Graduation is an exciting time in every student’s life.  Whether you’re completing your high school diploma or equivalency, Pitt Community College is the next step in your academic success.  To assist you with questions you have about your transition to PCC, you are required to meet with an admissions counselor to make sure you're ready to register for courses at New Student Orientation. Please click here to schedule an appointment.  If you are a distance learner or have circumstances preventing a face-to-face appointment, please call 252-493-7245 or email pcccounseling@email.pittcc.edu to make alternate arrangements for a phone, email, or virtual meeting.

Congratulations on your achievements up to this point and we’re looking forward to seeing you continue your success as a Bulldog!  To start your journey with PCC, carefully follow these steps:

Path

Connecting your education to the career of your dreams is an important first step in making the decision to attend college.  Knowing the profession you plan to pursue will let you know which major to select when you apply for admission.

Apply

Since you’ve never attended college before, you’ll be applying as a freshman student.  You’ll be asked to enter your College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) account information, but you’ll be welcome to create a new account if you don’t already have one.

Submit

It’s your responsibility to have your high school transcript sent to us as soon as possible.  You can do so through your CFNC account or by working with your high school counselor.

Financial Aid

Attending Pitt Community College is an affordable way to continue your education, but if you need help paying for your tuition, books, and school materials, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the best way to receive assistance.  Once you’ve been admitted, you’re also welcome to complete applications for scholarships by clicking here.

 Placement
Test

Meeting placement test requirements are required before you can attend an orientation session or register for courses.  Submission of your high school transcript or SAT/ACT scores may allow you to be waived.

Schedule Appointment

Your admissions counselor will review the application process with you to prepare you for New Student Orientation.  Click the link on the left to schedule your mandatory appointment using your myPittCC student information.  If you are a distance learner or have circumstances preventing a face-to-face appointment, please call 252-493-7245 or email pcccounseling@email.pittcc.edu to make alternate arrangements for a phone, email, or virtual meeting.

Attend

New Student Orientation is the best way to begin your education at PCC.  At your session, you’ll get the tools needed to be successful in your transition college, along with meeting your future classmates.  Along with meeting with your admissions counselor, completing a New Student Orientation session is mandatory for first-time freshmen.
