Honorary Alumni Award

Honoring the achievements and service of alumni is extremely important to the Pitt Community College Alumni Association. We publicly honor and recognize our alumni during the annual alumni awards celebration.  The success of our alumni awards program depends on the nominations and letters of support from other alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the college. The process for choosing the annual recipients is as follows:

To nominate an outstanding PCC alum, download and complete the appropriate nomination forms below. To submit the completed forms, either attach them to an e-mail or print and return them by mail.

Outstanding  Alumni Awards (6)
The Division Alumni Awards recognize alumni by academic divisions (5) and the Continuing Education Division (1) with outstanding achievement and service in one’s profession, in civic and community affairs, and/or in service to the College. Recipients should have adhered to standards of moral and ethical conduct that would cause the College to be proud to present the award to the recipient as a role model for students and other alumni. This award is presented to those who have attended Pitt Community College for a minimum of two semesters, completed their educational goal(s), and meet criteria for alumni status as defined by the bylaws of the PCC Alumni Association. Current employees of the College are excluded from consideration. Current employees of the College are excluded from consideration. Receiving this award does not prevent one from receiving any other alumni awards if so selected.  Selections by the Awards Committee are not subject to vote by the total Board of Directors. All nomination forms/materials should be submitted online or be on letter or legal size paper and easily-reproducible form.  Nominations cannot be considered without supporting documentation. The Alumni Biographical Form is required for each nominee before consideration by the selection committee and the recipient is required to attend the annual alumni awards celebration.

Young Alumni Award
The Young Alumni Award honors students/graduates of the last decade for exceptional achievements in career, public service and/or volunteerism that brings honor to the College. Recipients should have adhered to standards of moral and ethical conduct that would cause the College to be proud to present the award to the recipient as a role model for students and other alumni. Selections by the Awards Committee are not subject to vote by the total Board of Directors. All nomination forms/materials should be submitted online or be on letter or legal size paper and easily-reproducible form.  Nominations cannot be considered without supporting documentation. Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the most prestigious offered by Pitt Community College. It recognizes alumni with outstanding and uncommon achievement in one’s profession, in civic/community affairs, and/or in service to the College. Recipients should have adhered to standards of moral and ethical conduct that would cause the College to be proud to present the award to the recipient as a role model for students and other alumni. This award is presented to those who have attended Pitt Community College for a minimum of two semesters, completed their educational goal(s), and meet criteria for alumni status as defined by the bylaws of the PCC Alumni Association. Honorary Alumni Award

The Honorary Alumni Award, established during our 50th Anniversary, is one of the highest honors given by the Pitt Community College Alumni Association to individuals who are not graduates of PCC but have adopted the college as their own through uncommon outstanding service, substantial and continuing commitment, and loyalty. These individuals have made significant contributions to Pitt Community College’s welfare, reputation, prestige, and pursuit of excellence. In recognition of the expressions of goodwill, the Alumni Association occasionally inducts those who are particularly deserving to be inducted as honorary members of the Alumni Association. Selections are made by the Awards Committee of the Alumni Association.  The recipient is required to attend the annual alumni awards celebration.

Employee Alumni Award

The Employee Alumni Award is an honor bestowed upon an employee of PCC who has completed a minimum of two (2) semesters (24 credit hours) at Pitt Community College. This award honors the individual(s) who have demonstrated an on-going commitment in service to hope and opportunity. These individuals have made significant contributions to Pitt Community College’s welfare, reputation, and prestige, and pursuit of excellence. These individuals have a record of outstanding achievements as members of the PCC family. Selections are made by the Awards Committee of the Alumni Association.  The recipient is required to attend the annual alumni awards celebration.
